Sania one step away from main draw
Sania Mirza demolished the challenge of Jocelyn Rae 6-1 6-2 to progress to the third and final round of the qualifying event of the WTA Aegon International tournament.

The eight seed Indian hardly broke a sweat in the second round contest and overwhelmed the local player, ranked just inside the top-500, in 52 minutes.

Sania broke the British girl twice to race to the opening set lead in 25 minutes although she squandered five other break chances.

All over her opponent after handing Rae the first set drubbing, Sania did not take long to finish off the game as he grabbed the two break chances that came her way.

Rae hit seven aces, two more than Sania, and committed three double faults to the two of the Indian.

Sania will now take on winner of the other second round match between Russia's Ekaterina Makarova and Taipei's fourth seed Yung-Jan Chan.
