Two dropped shots late in his round cost Justin Rose a shot at a share of the lead in the Memorial Tournament.

With play having again been disrupted by bad weather, Rose had looked set to challenge for the lead on day three with a run of four birdies in four holes.

But dropped shots at the 15th and 16th, followed by two pars, saw Rose only fourth and trailing leader Rickie Fowler by four shots.
Rose had five birdies and three bogeys in his round of 70 four a 12 under total.

That left him four shots adrift of Fowler who led fellow Americans Ricky Barnes and Tim Petrovic by three.
Fowler was once again in impressive form, extending his bogey-free streak to 52 holes as his three under par round of 69 earned him a lead of three over Barnes and Petrovic going into the final round. Fowler took his total to 16 under but it was Barnes who was the star of the day.

Playing with defending champion Tiger Woods he shot a 10 under par round of 62 to compile a third round total of 203 to tie with Petrovic who shot a 68.
Woods' round of 69 included a double bogey and was 10 shots off the pace in a tie for 20th.
Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy was tied for 12th after a second successive 68 put him on 208.
